Sound as vibration
Sound and healing vibrations have been around for thousands of years. We are naturally attracted to the harmony of healing frequencies, consciously or unconsciously.
Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies, from the lowest (solid matter); through frequencies that can be perceived as sound; to the highest that are imperceptible to us (radio waves, microwaves, x-rays, etc).
As humans we are familiar with a range of sound frequencies that correspond to the energy centres (chakras) in our body. The energy centres, together with the glands and organs surrounding them, each have their own frequency – from the 1st energy centre vibrating at the lowest frequency to the highest at the top of the head.
The Solfeggio scale
This scale of frequencies or tones is known as the Solfeggio scale, believed to be used in ancient sacred music and chants. Each tone resonates with the different energy centres to keep them in harmony:
- 396 Hz: The ‘Do’ or ‘Ut’ tone – associated with security issues – it liberates guilt and fear.
- 417 Hz: The ‘Re’ tone – facilitates creativity and change, liberating negative patterns.
- 528 Hz: The ‘Mi’ tone – facilitates energy, transformation and DNA repair.
- 639 Hz: The ‘Fa’ tone – associated with communication, understanding, tolerance and love.
- 741 Hz: The ‘Sol’ tone – helps with self expression and problem solving, also a powerful detoxifier.
- 852 Hz: The ‘La’ tone – about awakening, it allows you to see the truth, develops intuition
- 936 Hz: The ‘Si’ or ‘Ti’ tone – reconnects you to oneness and light.
How sound healing works
Physical, emotional or mental disharmony can cause these frequencies to become ‘out of tune’ developing a loss of wholeness leading to discomfort and disease. The frequencies can be ‘corrected’ through resonance by using specific toning frequencies.
Ancient Eastern metaphysical teachings have understood how energy works in the body and for thousands of years have been using sound for healing, e.g. chanting, gongs and singing bowls. They have been teaching us that our body is programmable by the frequencies in language, words and thought.

Sound frequencies can reprogram DNA
Revolutionary research by Russian scientists has proven that DNA can be reprogrammed by the frequencies of language (grammar, syntax, semantics and words).
Their findings show that DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body, but that the other 90% of our so called “junk DNA” serves as a data storage and communication system. It functions much like our global internet system, only superior in capability.
This ground breaking work explains why affirmations, autogenous training, hypnosis and such can have a transformational effect on our bodies. Our DNA reacts to specific frequencies, as well as language!
It also reveals that, as on the worldwide internet, our DNA can input and recall data, and establish contact with other participants through its network. This exciting revelation gives us a clue as to how distant energy healing, telepathy, intuition and group consciousness works.

The healing frequency of love
It has been established that the frequency of love vibrates at 528 Hz. In ‘The Book of 528, Prosperity Key of Love’ Dr. Leonard Horowitz how energy, specifically the frequency 528Hz frequency of sound, is central to all creation and fundamental to natural and universal growth and healing.
He argues that only human primates are capable of acting in dissonance with the resonance of the universe; because of ego, fear, arrogance, greed, competition, and dominance.
Nature is “in sync” with itself and the vibration of 528 Hz, the resonance energy that corresponds to the heart of creation – or the “musical mathematical organization that we call the universe”.
Frequency, sound and healing are intricately connected.
How the 528 Hz frequency cleaned polluted water in the Gulf of Mexico
After the 2010 oil spill disaster in 2010, scientist John Hutchinson and his research partner, Nancy Hutchinson, confounded the coast guard by using the 528 Hz frequency and other Solfeggio tones to purify the polluted water.
The results were certified by an experienced analytical chemist, Dr. Robert Naman, President of Analytical Chemical Testing Laboratory, Inc. of Mobile, Alabama. He confirmed the complete removal of oil and grease from a sample of the treated water.
The restored water had turned form murky brown to a clear green, and marine life was able to return to the area.
How we can use sound and healing ourselves
With the right sound vibrations we can align ourselves with the frequencies that resonate with healing, happiness and universal connection.
There are various ways you can benefit from sound, such as with:
- the sounds of nature
- harmonious music
- bells, gongs and bowls
- Nada Yoga
- binaural beats
There are a great many techniques you can experiment with to find those that resonate with you personally. Find out more here. They can help you to raise your vibrations to those of love, peace and joy for healing.
Play your favourite instrument, sing, chant, listen to your favourite music or meditate. Listen and feel in to the healing vibration of your cat purring. Or just be open to the great silence, the joy of nature and the eternal symphony that surrounds you.
